Cam’ron Speaks On Top 5 Rappers, Why N.Y. Not On Top, Etc.

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

Cam’ron has been in hiding for quite some time, but has been seen a lot more recently. Cam’ron has made his mark in this hip-hop business. With that said, if you were going to ask a person, certain questions like, Why N.Y. Hip-Hop has fell off, or Who are the top 5 rappers, Cam’ron is someone who’s answers carry some weight.

In other news regarding this Dipset member, he doesn’t have any intentions on having a reunion album with his immediate team in the near future. These guys should just kiss and make up. It will really help Jim, Cam, Juelz, Zeeky…the whole Dipset! Hip-hop is missing that unity it used to have with your Ruff Ryders, Rocafella, Murder Inc., Death Row, No Limit days. Everyone is on their own now pretty much!

Nick Cannon Takes Respect Seriously

Published by kago71 under TV, music Edit This

Nick Cannon has been a very peaceful person throughout his career. Celebrities probably have to deal with some of the harshed comments, compliments, and insults of all people living. Most celebs keep their thoughts regarding these kind of harsh words to themselves. Mostly because they don’t want to offend other people. At the same time celebrities are real people and they have feelings just like us all.

Apparently, some blogger pissed off Nick Cannon and he decided not to keep quiet about it. So now this person talking all wreckless in the beginning feels threatened? People come up with some bullsh*t sometimes. At any rate, here is Mr. Nick Cannon keepin’ it real!

T.I. Sentenced To Expected Year and a Day

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

Rapper T.I. has been counting down his Road To Redemption, and the day has finally come. The official day of reckonning brought T.I. 366 days in prison. And even though he won’t voluntarily turn himself in until after May 19th, knowing that he’s got to go in has got to be somewhat of an eerie feeling.

He was praised by the Judge for exceeding what was agreed in his plea deal. He will also have the option of early release on good behavior, which I expect will happen.

Rick Ross Finally Admits That He Was a Correctional Officer…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

HaHaHaHaHaHa! Wow! Why then deny it sooooo hard? I heard about this shit over a year ago, and even though I didn’t give a damn about it because I’m not really a fan, I had a feeling it was much more than a rumor! I mean, seriously! Who has been able to come into hip-hop and instantly be considered this huge don? No One!!!! Everyone has had to earn that kind of respect and Rick Ross is no exception to the rule. If he was doing soooo good in the streets, then what he need to rap for? Take Philly’s own Guillie Da Kid for example….it’s well known that this guy is making Major money outside of rap. And he only raps when he wants to. You should’ve known better than that Ricky. How are you going to make it up to all your fans and former fans now?

Music Feud Update: Well, Kind Of…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

The reason I say kind of, is because it isn’t exactly the people involved directly with the music that are beefing here. The person most known in the genre of hip-hop for their involvment in street drama is Suge Knight.

It’s a damn shame that this grown ass man is still getting himself into situations 12+ years after the death of the late great 2pac. At any rate, during the NBA All-Star Weekend this year at a private party, some of Akon’s people laid the smackdown on Suge Knight. Yeah…he got beat the f*ck up!

In what right now seems like a form of retaliation, this past Wednesday, some guys allegedly ran up in  Akon’s guys house and robbed him of around $300k worth of stuff, and said that it was for a debt he owed Suge Knight.

Akon says that he and Suge Knight have always had peaceful conversations so he doesn’t know what is going on. He had been out of the country. He said that he hadn’t spoke to anyone involved yet. WTF! This is just weird…..

Rap Fued Update: 50 Cent Vs. Rick Ross

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

Ever since the whole Pimpin’ Curly Presents sex tape that 50 Cent released, this fued has been rather quiet. Maybe Rick Ross realized that he probably isn’t as big of a boss as he would like to think he is. Or maybe he just playing the quiet role.

At this point I really don’t understand how someone who is suppose to be this big street giant can fall back and do nothing about a situation that he started. It doesn’t matter to me, I honestly would like to see things between them 2 get squashed because it’s only been somewhat entertaining and at the end of the day is only going to hurt someone.

Since the tape, Rick Ross said that he would be willing to help 50 Cent with the 2 albums he is going to release this year. He said that he would be willing to write rhymes for 50 to help out his sales, for the right price.

Don’t know if he is being literal or what, but that isn’t really helping the fact that he is on the light side of this lopsided battle.

Top 5 Hip-Hop Artists in Billboard 200 - March 24th

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

This week, we have plenty of new releases on the chart like, Kelly Clarkson #1 and The-Dream #2. Which means a drop in the overall rankings for us because we haven’t released any new chart-worthy albums in a hot minute! So, we officially have ZERO rap artists in the top 10.
Maybe I should monitor and post the rankings for other charts too…..because right now, we’re looking kind of sad on the Billboard 200.
T.I.’s Paper Trail dropped 3 spots to #13, while Kanye’s 808’s and Heartbreak dropped 5 spots to #16. Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III took a ten position dive to #41. Soulja Boy Tell’em is no longer last on this list.

# 13 T.I. - Paper Trail

# 16 Kanye West - 808’s and Heartbreak

# 41 Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

# 66 Soulja Boy Tell’em - iSouljaBoyTellem

# 74 Plies - Da REAList

Chris Brown’s Security Equals Attempted Childminder On Man…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

An understandably fiesty security for Chris Brown went ape-shit and allegedly tried to shake a man’s life out of him for taking a photo of Chris while they were working out at a gym. We weren’t there, but it’s sure not getting Chris any points at this point in his life. Chris made a critical comment about the man involved in this situation, sometime after the situation occured.

The reason I say critical here is because it all depends on how you take it….It couldn’t possibly bother me. Hopefully (for Chris) this situation will just die out without getting much attention (sorry for writing abou it).

Kanye West Faces Possible Jail Time

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

I know that no person should ever touch another person to hurt them (don’t full agree with that), but the way some of those paparrazi be acting, they may as well be touching you! So Kanye West really just took one for the team in September 2008 when he allegedly beat down a paparrazi at LAX.

Unfortunately, with some desireable actions come negative consequences. Kanye is facing possible jail time due to charges being filed against him. He faces serveral different charges….See kids! Nowadays, even giving someone an old fashioned, knuckle to face ass-whooping gets you in the kind of trouble that nobody really wants.

Creativity! Hip-Hop in Its Purest Form: Rapping Flight Attendant

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

It’s a known fact that not only rap artists that get paid to do what they do, are the only people in the world that rap on their job. In fact, there is a flight attendant that does their pre-flight announcements in a rap, and this guy is pretty good. I think more than the fact that he is doing the announcement as a rap, is the fact that he is doing it for a bunch of people that probably HATE rap music. And after they’ve heard him, they genuinely like what they heard. I think this is good because it brings up the good point that, no matter what kind of music it is, if it is being performed in person, it grabs you a totally different way than it does, when you hear it over a radio or see it on TV. It’s the little things like this that keep hip-hop alive and well….Not that Mr. Executive, and Mr. Producer, and Mr. Promoter, and Mr. Artist, and Mr. Engineer don’t play a HUGE part because they obviously do, but it’s someone doing something out of the normal everday, that keeps it in people’s faces!

Top 5 Billboard 200 Rap Update: March 17th

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

With the way things were looking last week, I knew there would be a change or 2 this week but nothing significant. We have a new leader this week and I believe that it is due to the fact that T.I. has a TV show right now where he is helping kids that are leading bad lifestyles, and literally, if you turn to MTV at any given time of the day, one of his reruns are on, so it has been keeping his album sales up there as it should! Even though the change is only one position, Paper Trail is our new leader at #10, with 808’s and Heartbreak right behind him at #11. Tha Carter III is still juggling in the 30’s at #31 this week. Ludacris unexpectingly fell out of the top 5, so that puts Da Realist at #55 this week, and one new face into our top 5, with iSouljaBoyTellem coming in at #62. Things are FINALLY starting to shake up a bit. Only time will tell though!

# 10 T.I. - Paper Trail

# 11 Kanye West - 808’s and Heartbreak

# 31 Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

# 55 Plies - Da REAList

# 62 Soulja Boy Tell’em - iSouljaBoyTellem

T.I.’s Road to Redemption: Donald’s Makeover

Published by kago71 under TV Edit This

Of all the young people that T.I. has tried to help on his Road to Redemption, Donald is one of the one’s who seemed to have appreciated what T.I. was doing for him the most. There’s nothing like a youngster who is genuinely appreciative of the things that their elders do for them.

Every week, what T.I. is doing sinks in a little bit more, and it’s what many people in need think about when it comes to wealthy people. They waste what could change our lives. How many out there offer direct help? And I’m not talking about their charities. I’m talking about middle class people that just need a boost of some sort ya know!

Hip-Hop Thought Of The New Week! March 15th Edition…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

So I wanted to discuss this whole 50 Cent Vs. Rick Ross fued!

Me and my comrades, companions, close friends, collaborators, and cousins…talked things over and this post was almost about to be a “And the Winner Is…” posting. And I was about to crown 50 Cent as the undisputed winner of this battle.

We decided that, after that explosive, off-the-wall commentary that Pimpin’ Curly gave, over Ross’ baby momma’s sex tape, that there isn’t a song that Rick Ross could do, that could bounce himself back from this one! I mean, REALLY!  HOW DO YOU BEAT THAT!?

We also have begun to utter some things about Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, that we never thought we’d ever utter about the guy…..Like he is one of  Hip-Hop’s greatest battle rappers of all time, if not the best.

I mean, think about it….he came in the game and basically destroyed Murder Inc single-handedly. And other than his rookie loss to Jay-Z (which many people don’t know about) and the fact that he really didn’t beat The Game, 50 has much dominated his competition in some manner or another. He’s taken ‘the battle’ to a whole ‘nother level here!  Who in hip-hop has racked up as many victories, or even has as many successful battles under their belt as him? The only person I can think of is LL Cool J. LL fought ALL of his battles the classic way. Now I’m not saying that he can’t be beat but, whoever tries is going to have to do it decisively!

So, we haven’t totally counted out the C.O. turned “Miami cocaine boss” (Undecidedand we believe you!)!

I know many of you are red in the face right now, saying stuff like, “Hell No! 50 is not the best battle rapper of all time!” And you’re probably naming off everyone of your favorite rappers….BUT…

I’m speaking from a totally unbias point-of-view here people! And looking at the facts…50 Cent is looking like King Kong to Rick Ross, right now.

JUST BECAUSE WE DON’T LIKE A GUY DOESN’T MEAN THAT HE ISN’T GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL!!!

Rick Ross’ Baby Momma Sex Tape! HaHaHaHaHa!!!!

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

During my early morning web browsing, I was trying to find something POSITIVE to post for ya’ll to end out the week. Unfortunately, or fortunately, with this whole 50 Cent Vs. Rick Ross  fued going on, I came across some of the funniest shit, I’ve ever seen in Hip-Hop! Well at least in a so-called hip-hop “battle!”

As you know, lame ass Officer Ross calls 50 Cent Curly, trying to say that he isn’t straight, or that he is gay. So, 50 Cent making more of the situation, throws on a curly wig and transforms himself into a character that he calls Pimpin’ Curly. Pimpin’ Curly released a 13 minute sex-tape of Rick Ross’ baby momma yesterday in which he is doing the commentary.

When Big Tigger asked Ross about the tape on the radio, you could clearly tell that Rick Ross was hurt. He tried to play it off but didn’t do a very good job of it!

At any rate, I cannot post the video here, nor am I allowed to link you directly to it. But I will link you to the page, that links you to the video. Only watch if you are 18 or older!

This is a MUST SEE VIDEO! COMEDY! COMEDY! COMEDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Young Jeezy Switches Up Managment Company…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

The Snowman has confirmed that he is changing manangment companies, in order to be able to focus more on the music. This could have been a good move or a bad move, but will end up being a great move on the behalf of Young Jeezy. The ATL rapper is going to be on the same managment as Kanye West and Lil Wayne, who are managed by Hip-Hop Since 1978. With the Recession, which we think is his best album yet, not having reached platinum status as of yet, this was probably one of the smartest moves Jeezy could have possibly made in regards to furthering his career as an artist!

P. Diddy On Ellen DeGeneres

Published by kago71 under TV Edit This

P. Diddy was on Ellen on Tuesday, talking about his Twitter and how he uses it! I don’t pass judgement on Diddy, though he isn’t my favorite guy in the industry, I can do nothing but respect someone who spreads positivity, and seeing this video I myself am inspired. He said that he sent a message to his Twitter followers, saying, “If you are chasing your dream, you aren’t running fast enough!” That gave me personally a huge motivation boost this morning!  Diddy also commented on Chris and Rihanna using his Florida residence to reconcile. It’s crazy how, other people in the industry got ripped to shreds by other industry people for negative things they’ve done, but EVERYONE is keeping their mouths closed about this Chris & Rihanna situation. I guess good thing to remember is that, it’s in GOD’s Hands!

C-Murder - Back Behind Bars…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

I know people who have been on house arrest, and have seen several people crack under the tight pressure of staying at home for months and years. It’s understandable but before you go “out of range” of the anklet monitor, there are some things a person who’s thinking of leaving should think about.

First off, if you get caught, you’re going to be stuck chillin’ with a bunch of men all day every day.

Second, you won’t be able to enjoy real food. I’ve been to jail, and have had to eat jail slop before, and let me tell you, I’d rather eat brussel sprouts!

Third, C-Murder has enough money to purchase all the entertainment he could possibly want. So house arrest for him should be more like freedom.

It really doesn’t make sense why people won’t just stay at home until they are permitted to leave.

Prison or House Arrest? Which one would you choose?

Top 5 Billboard 200 Rap Update: March 10th

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

This weeks update shows some minor changes, but nothing huge, as we still have the same top 5 rappers. But with Plies falling harder than the other 4, we may see a new album on the top 5 next week. Other than that, Kanye is still our leader at #10 with T.I. right behind him at #11. Seems like T.I.’s Road to Redemption show has given his album sales a nice boost! Lil Wayne’s album is still doing great. I mean, c’mon the album is triple platinum and is still in the Top 50 of Billbord’s 200 chart 38 weeks after it was released. Ludacris has begun to gain a little steam as well! I expect his album to continue it’s rise on the chart.

# 10 Kanye West - 808’s and Heartbreak

# 11 T.I. - Paper Trail

# 36 Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

# 55 Ludacris - Theater of the Mind

# 64 Plies - Da REAList

Saturday Cartoons Presents “Officer Ricky: Welcome To Death Row Right Now Na Na Na”

Published by kago71 under TV Edit This

Not really an update to the 50 Cent - Rick Ross situation, but as I was browsing the Net, I came across this weird video. The video is a cartoon and features the faces of a number of well known people in Hip Hop. It’s good that artists are being more creative nowadays with the belittling of their rivals. The whole “Fuck So and So! He’s a straight bitch” is so dry that some Hip Hop fans just started giving up on this genre. Way too much repetition! When is the last time we heard a new artist that set themselves apart from the average rapper? At any rate, here’s the little entertaining cartoon…

New Dutch Shaw Video…

Published by kago71 under music Edit This

At the beginning of the year, I did a couple of posts on some unsigned hip hop artists that I thought had major potential. The first post was on up and coming West rapper Dutch Shaw. Ever since stumbling upon his myspace page, I’ve been following his progress and can honestly say that I am in NO WAY Dissapointed with this guy! His image is solid along with the music. A few days ago, he released his very first music video to one of his underground tracks, “Loyal to the Game.”  Here is Dutch Shaw in 3-D for those of you who don’t know him yet!
