Finally! The Billboard 200 list is beginning to look a little different. With some strong yet new releases beginning to take control of things, such as, Kelly Clarkson, U2, The-Dream, Jamie Foxx, and your usual Beyonce and Taylor Swift, our regular hip-hop juggernauts are being forced to take lower positions on the chart. With one new release in Gorilla Zoe’s Don’t Feed Da Animals, we have this album as our new leader for this week. The real test will be where he places next week. Our 3 consistent leaders are now our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placed albums on the chart. I suspect that if Don’t Feed Da Animals drops out of the leading position, Paper Trail, 808’s and Heartbreak, and Tha Carter III will remain our chart leaders, in that order. Soulja Boy Tellem has knock Plies out of the Top 5, but….because of seeing the same albums every single week….I have decided to start listing all hip-hop albums in the Top 100….Soon, I will start monitoring the hip-hop chart itself.
***Update: Due to my error, I completely overlooked the fact that Twistid debuted on the chart at #11 this week. Thanks to Ted, for pointing that out to me! My mistake…Looks like Soulja Boy Tell’em’s album has been pushed down to the “Best of the Rest” and everyone else other than our current leader has been deranked as well….
