Weekly Hip-Hop Billboard 200 Update
As 2009 moves on, so do the now-shifty Billboard 200 chart rankings from week to week. Of course I’m speaking of hip-hop albums on that chart. Though I was kind of not liking the way things began to look, as hip-hop juggernauts began to fall. But when one falls, another rises!
With that said, I’m once again a true fan of this weeks leader, even though it is different than last weeks leader. Jadakiss’ The Last Kiss debuted at #3 this week. Jadakiss is one of hip-hop’s few solid artists. Throughout his career he’s never tweaked his sound to conform to what everyone was feeling at the moment. If you don’t like Jadakiss, you have to at least respect him. This man has lots of skill and is actually quite humble.
Flo Rida has expectingly held on to the second spot at #17, with UGK 4 Life right behind him at #20. Paper Trail is still holding on Strong!! So T.I. has to be happy about that.
Another album debut this week was Mims’ Guilt, which debuted at #53. Not very strong at all, but then that also depends on marketing expenses and effort.
